Starting in February 1965 Cecil Yother took over the driving duties from Tommy Grove to helm the Melrose Missile Plymouth Factory Experimental Hemi powered race car.

Hot off the heels of a win at the 1965 Winternationals in which he ran a 1965 Pontiac GTO B stock, 1st round taking out Royal Pontiac, followed up by sending Roy Gay of Dickerson TX home. Beating a ’62 Chevy in the final round.
